Al-Hidaya Center 2.7

All praise is due to Allah (swt) The Most Merciful the Compassionate. The foundation of the Muslim Community of Troy, known as Masjid al-Hidaya, traces back to a group of students at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) who initially rented a modest room for their daily prayers. Over time, this humble beginning blossomed, leading to the acquisition of a two-story house which now serves as Masjid Al-Hidaya. The primary floor of this establishment has been thoughtfully transformed into a musalla (prayer space), while the second level accommodates classrooms for weekend school courses, youth and adult education programs, and various community activities.

Over the past fifteen years, the community has experienced substantial growth, surpassing the capacity of their current premises. This inadequate space has hindered the community’s ability to host important events like jumuah prayers, seminars, Eid observances, and communal iftars, among others. Consequently, several essential community activities have been restricted due to space constraints.

Through the blessings and mercy of Allah, the longstanding prayers of the community have been answered with the establishment of the Al-Hidaya Center in Latham. It is gratifying to witness this new and splendid Masjid facility. Let us earnestly pray for the swift commencement and completion of phase II, encompassing the construction of a school building and a multipurpose hall.
